Fun Lesson Activity about The Wiener Dog

This activity will teach kids how to draw their own wiener dog while also teaching them a few facts about them. First, give each child a piece of construction paper and a pencil. Then, step-by-step, show the children how to draw a wiener dog. Start with the long body of a wiener dog and its head. Then, show them how to draw its floppy ears, tail, and short legs. While the children are drawing their dog, tell them how the shape of the dog is helpful for them getting in and out of small places. Once they finish, give the children black and brown markers and let them color their wiener dog. After all of the children are done coloring their wiener dog, share a few basic facts about them. For example, they were originally bred to hunt small animals, such as badgers. Or they are good watch dogs and will bark aggressively if someone approaches the house.
