Fun Lesson Activity about The Warthog

This hands on activity is great to teach kids about warthogs. First, create several stations in the room. Each station will represent one fact about a warthog. For example, you could glue a bunch of dried beans to a piece of cardboard and place it at one station. Then, let the children feel the bumpy texture, and explain to them how a warthog’s head is covered in warts, which are very bumpy. Or you could create a station with a flower pot and grasses to represent the fact that warthogs are herbivores. Another example is to have a container of mud at a station since warthogs like to lay in mud to cool down. Once you have several stations set up, ask the children to go together to each station to learn a fact about warthogs. After they have visited all of the stations, ask them what their favorite thing they learned about warthogs was.
