Fun Lesson Activity about The Squirrel
The most interesting part of a squirrel is arguably the big, bushy tail. For this activity, give each of the children a piece of string that’s about the length of their thigh, plus a couple of inches. Let them glue on cotton balls, feathers, and anything else you have handy from the crafts section that would look good as a squirrel tail. You can also show them that they can rip up small sections of the cotton balls to make the tail extra fluffy. Make sure the kids leave a couple inches at the top without anything glued to it to make the next part easier. On the back of each kids pants, there should be a belt loop. Tie the string through the belt loop for them. If the kid doesn’t have pants with a belt loop, you can use tape and tell them that they can remove the tape and use it for any other pair of pants that they have.
