Fun Lesson Activity about The Millipede
This game will teach kids about the life cycle of a millipede. Split the children into four groups. The first group will be the millipede egg. On a sheet of paper, ask the children to draw an egg of a millipede with dirt around it, since millipedes dig a hole and lay their eggs under the soil. The second group will be a small adult millipede. Ask this group to draw and color a millipede that is one inch long. Make sure they draw the millipede in segments. Each segment should have two legs. Ask the third group draw and color a millipede that is six inches long. This one should have more segments than the millipede in group one. Finally, ask the fourth group to draw and color a millipede that is 12 inches long. Once each group is finished, draw a large circle on a sheet of paper. Ask the groups to put their millipedes in the correct order around the circle. Then, explain how the life cycle of a millipede goes from an egg to an adult, and that as they age, they grow longer and gain more segments with legs.
